Progress in Motor Control– Call for Proposals – Deadline June 7, 2024
The International Society of Motor Control (ISMC) holds a society meeting every two years. The next Progress in Motor Control (PMC) meeting will be held in 2025. The ISMC will provide support to the organizers of the meeting in the form of a scientific advisory (steering) committee as well as a loan guarantee to be reimbursed at the end of the meeting. If you are interested in hosting the next meeting, please make a proposal based on the questions below.
1. List Chair and Co-Chair (if applicable) of the organizing committee as well as potential members of the local committee including titles and professional backgrounds.
2. Indicate the Host Institution.
3. Indicate if the Chairs(s) and committee members have any previous experience in organizing an international meeting.
4. Indicate how you plan to provide the following:
- resources to organize conference (local organizing committee, material and technical support)
- venue organization and setup
- catering
- obtaining sponsorships and exhibitors
- registration management
- abstract submission and review management
- marketing & communication including production of program/abstract book
- brochures and website (linked to ISMC website)
- budget allocation
5. Conference time: At what time of the year/ what month could the conference be organized? Are there any blackout dates?
6. Conference Venue: General description of the venue: Capacity of the main auditorium, capacity of space for poster presentations and exhibitors, possibility of accommodation at the venue.
7. Transportation: Can the venue be reached easily by international travelers? Are there any possible restrictions for entering the country by any nationalities, and how can they be solved?
8. Conference Fees. What are the estimated conference fees and what would be included in these fees?
9. Accommodation possibilities: Are there accommodations available in a wide price range to allow all delegates to attend? Are these accommodation possibilities close to the venue and can the venue be reached by foot or public transport? Are shuttles needed?
10. Social events: What are the possibilities for social events linked to the conference (Opening reception, Bernstein Reception, Closing Banquet)?
